The PMC-250 is ideal for 19" rackmount requirements and is only 3RU high. It features a rotatable connector panel for either table top or installation purposes, and has balanced XLR outputs with a -10dB attenuation switch. The mixer is primarily a two channel but has the facility for a third auxilary input, switchable between phono and line input levels. The main two channels feature rotary three band fixed EQ controls with -85 and +4dB cut and boost. Short 5mm faders above these controls offer the "kill" effect without the occasional clicks that can occur with switches. The mixer uses very high quality components and has features to please DJs and sound engineers alike. Input Volume Faders and the crossfader are user replaceable.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

1. WHAT DOES PCV MEAN ?
PCV Faders (Plastic Conductive Volume) up to now mainly were used in very high class studio mixers. The big advantage is a duration of (tested) 2million passes without audible loss of quality whereas Standard high class faders die after about 100.000 passes.

2. WHAT IS THE ROTATABLE CONNECTOR PANEL FOR?
If the mixer is used in a tabletop application, the mixer would be used in it’s standard configuration. If the mixer is to be installed in a 19" rackmount design DJ console, then the output connector panel can be rotated to allow for all cabling to be coming from the bottom of the mixer. This enables for other ackmountable components to be installed above the mixer without damaging the cables or connectors.

3. THE PMC-250 ONLY APPEARS TO BE A 2 CHANNEL MIXER, HOWEVER I NEED AT LEAST 5 CHANNELS FOR MY CLUB INSTALLATION AS I HAVE DJ’s THAT USE VINYL AND CD. WHAT DO YOU RECOMMEND?
The PMC 25 is actually a three channel mixer, even though it only appears to be a two channel. It has two main channels that are EQ-based, and a third input without gain or EQ control that is switchable between phono and line input levels. The two main channels can accept a total of 2 phono and 4 line sources, however these input selectors should be clearly labelled in order for DJ’s top be able to change input sources quickly. It is quite feasible for a PMC 250 to be used in a three turntable, two CD player, tuner and mini disc player console configuration. The 3RU size of the mixer makes it ideal for this style of application.

4. THE PMC-250 IS PREDOMINATELY A TWO CHANNEL MIXER, HOWEVER IT IS QUITE EXPENSIVE IN COMPARISON TO OTHER TWO CHANNEL MIXERS ON THE MARKET. WHY IS THIS THE CASE?
The PMC 25 has some features which set it apart from most two channel, three band EQ mixerson the market. Firstly, the EQ section for each channel is using isolator circuitry rather than mere –24dB "kills" that are quite common on lower cost mixers. The total sound of the channel is completely erased if all three EQ controls are cut, and if one is kept in place the sound of that bandwidth is not "blanketed". The mixer features balanced XLR output connectors, with a –10dB attenuation switch for PA system protection. The PMC 25 is also the only mixer to feature "cut to silence" EQ faders which allow for unprecedented creativity during mixing. The VESTAX PMC-250 is excellent for any DJ that is tight on rack space.  It is only 3 RU and allows the rear input panel to be moved to the bottom of the mixer allowing for other gear to be racked right above and below it without wasting any rack spaces.  Most people do not know about this unique feature!  Also, if you just give this mixer a quick glance you would think it is only a two PGM mixer but that is not true.  This is a three PGM mixer.  The third PGM is labeled as an Aux in but is not a typical Aux.  It has RCA phono and line inputs on the aux channel.  The VESTAX PMC-250 also offers three band isolators on PGM one and two.  XLR balanced outputs with a 0/+4/-10 attenuation selector switch on the back.  This is a great feature for mobile DJ´s that have employees that over gain.
